Extreme Master Bedroom Makeover-Knight Edition

Alright folks... As promised in my post from last week, I am documenting our extreme makeover :). Here is the story and of course some proof of this awesome project... For those of you who don't know Michael's parents, they are amazing people. They are always giving to their kids and others before themselves. They have never had a new bed or a real decorated master bedroom, so a few months ago Mike's sister and I decided that we needed to remedy that. Every year they go and volunteer at a camp in Iowa for kids with siblings that have cancer (once again thinking about others). This is a camp that Mike's siblings attended after he had cancer. They are gone for ten days so we figured that this would be a perfect time to work on their room. Mike's sister works at RC Willey and got an amazing deal on a bed and Mike made the headboard. Mike's brother Richard contributed money since he couldn't be there for the labor part. Their brother Joe also contributed money and helped us a ton!! So here is what happened.... We went down last Wednesday and continued the wallpaper removal that Joe and Melissa started. We stayed up till about 1:30 doing that and also cleaning out the room. Lucky for us, Cooper decided to wake up right as we were falling asleep and we ended up only getting about 4 hours of sleep that night :). Thursday we kept cleaning out the room and I started painting. It only took me a few hours to paint and meanwhile we worked on other things.... We were unaware when we planned this that they were having construction done on the house, and it was a total disaster.... So in between stuff on the room, we were running to the store for last minute things, taking care of Cooper, and trying to get everything clean in the house for when they came home. Friday we started putting the room back together and got most everything done. Saturday we cleaned everything in the living room and hung some pictures that have never been hung.... Then we moved the furniture back into the kitchen and cleaned all that up. We finally finished everything completely about an hour before they got home on Sunday. We tried to make it a little modern, but not too modern. We also tried to make it cute, but made it the way that Mike's mom would like it. I think it turned out pretty good considering the amount of time and money that was spent. I was amazed at how much energy I had considering Cooper woke up and pretty much had to be held every night we were there. I think it was the adrenaline. Seeing their expressions when they saw the room and their reactions made it all worth it! Here are some pictures to document this awesome experience. :)
A before picture, when the wallpaper was kind of off and most the stuff was cleaned out
Joe pretending to spray, they were really spraying the walls but he didn't quite always pose this way :)

Before

After picture, the curtains we bought at TJ Maxx, and just spray painted the rod they already had...
Mike's mom already had this dresser and mirror... we couldn't really afford a new one so we left it in there and left her stuff on it because it was all sentimental
Next two the dresser we hung pics of the grandkids and Katie and we got a TV stand from out by the hot tub to put the TV on

I found this bedspread and shams at Target for $30 and Mike made the headboard. We hung a wedding picture and a picture of them from the family pictures above the bed.
